Discovery CT750 HD CT Scanner – High-definition, low-dose imaging by GE Healthcare
The Discovery CT750 HD CT Scanner from General Electric Healthcare is a state-of-the-art computed tomography solution designed to meet the most demanding clinical needs. This model, refurbished as part of the GoldSeal™ programme, guarantees performance equivalent to that of a new device while optimising value for money for healthcare facilities. Thanks to cutting-edge imaging technology and an innovative dose management system, it combines diagnostic accuracy with patient safety.
At the heart of this system, ASiR™ (Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction) technology represents a major advance in radiation dose reduction. ASiR reduces radiation exposure without compromising image quality, which is particularly important in repeated or paediatric imaging protocols. Combined with 128i super-stacked reconstruction, this technology delivers 0.625 mm thin images for reliable and detailed interpretation.
The Discovery CT750 HD also features a Performix™ HD 8 MHU X-ray tube and a 100 kW generator capable of delivering a wide range of currents from 10 mA to 835 mA, with fine adjustment steps. This level of performance allows acquisition parameters to be adjusted to different patient morphologies and clinical specificities. The system supports voltages of 80, 100, 120 and 140 kVp, making it versatile for all types of examinations.
The patient experience is also optimised thanks to a 1700 mm or 2000 mm travel table, supporting a weight of up to 227 kg (500 lb) for the standard version and up to 306 kg (675 lb) for the reinforced version. The wide 70 cm opening of the gantry ensures greater comfort and easier positioning, even for larger or claustrophobic patients. The tube rotation speed can reach 0.35 seconds, reducing motion artefacts, particularly in cardiac or thoracic examinations.
On the software side, the Discovery CT750 HD offers a comprehensive suite of analysis and post-processing tools directly accessible from the console. These include 3-axis MPR reconstructions, the SmartPrep™ function for optimised contrast injection, the Exam Split tool and the integrated Volume Viewer for real-time 3D visualisation. The system is also compatible with hospital computer networks thanks to the ConnectPro solution for HIS/RIS integration.
Designed for intensive clinical use, this CT scanner features specific filters for neurological imaging, dynamic Z-axis tracking, and three-dimensional dose modulation via OptiDose™ technology. It is ideally suited for low-dose lung screening as well as complex cardiovascular and oncological examinations.
The Discovery CT750 HD is a comprehensive, high-performance, dose-efficient diagnostic tool that meets the latest standards in medical imaging, while offering an excellent return on investment thanks to its proven reliability and optimised design.
