Fujifilm Dri-Chem NX 500 – A high-performance, compact clinical chemistry analyser
The Fujifilm Dri-Chem NX 500 is a fully automated clinical chemistry analyser that combines speed, simplicity and reliability. Designed to meet the needs of hospital laboratories, private clinics and healthcare centres, it is based on Fujifilm's dry reagent technology. This technology, derived from the brand's expertise in photographic film manufacturing, ensures high reagent stability, consistent accuracy and high reproducibility of results. The device accepts different types of samples – plasma, serum or whole blood – and requires only a small sample volume, thus limiting invasiveness for the patient, particularly in paediatrics and neonatology.
A quick and easy procedure for real-time results
The Dri-Chem NX 500 operates according to an intuitive three-step procedure: insert the reactive slide, load the sample, then start the analysis by simply pressing the touch screen. Thanks to its integrated auto-pipetting system, the device ensures accurate sample volume measurement and reduces the risk of human error. Plasma filtration is automated via the Plasma Filter, which separates plasma from whole blood in less than a minute without complex pre-treatment. The analysis is then performed using a colorimetric or potentiometric method depending on the parameter selected, with a measurement time ranging from one to six minutes.
Versatility and safety of use for a wide range of analyses
The NX 500 supports 28 colorimetric tests and 3 electrolytic tests, covering essential biochemical parameters such as enzymes, proteins, lipids, electrolytes and certain immunological markers. With a capacity of up to 128 tests per hour, it is ideal for environments requiring high-throughput analysis. The use of barcoded reagent slides eliminates manual parameter entry and eliminates the need for regular calibration, thanks to a QC card system included with each reagent kit. Used slides are automatically ejected into a waste compartment, reducing the risk of biological contamination. The device does not require a water supply, simplifying installation and reducing maintenance requirements.
