BINDER FD 56: high-performance drying oven with forced convection
The BINDER FD 56 is a professional laboratory oven from the Avantgarde.Line series, designed for applications requiring fast drying, uniform heating and high thermal accuracy. This state-of-the-art drying chamber stands out thanks to its forced convection technology combined with the exclusive APT.line™ technology, which ensures perfectly uniform heat distribution throughout the chamber, guaranteeing consistent and reliable thermal performance even under load.
Designed to operate in a temperature range from +10 °C above ambient temperature up to 300 °C, the FD 56 oven is suitable for a wide variety of applications ranging from drying sensitive materials to sterilisation, stability testing and thermal ageing. At 150°C, it ensures thermal uniformity of ±1.7 K and a maximum fluctuation of ±0.3 K, making it the preferred choice for regulated research, quality and production environments.
The FD 56's energy efficiency is another major advantage. Thanks to its optimised insulation and precise temperature control, the oven consumes up to 30% less energy than conventional models. At 100 °C, average consumption is only 180 Wh/h, while at 150 °C it is only 290 Wh/h. This low consumption is accompanied by a reduced noise level of 43 dB(A), making it a discreet piece of equipment that is perfectly suited to laboratories with high acoustic comfort requirements.
Ergonomic and functional, the FD 56 is equipped with an intuitive LCD controller that allows easy setup and clear monitoring of the thermal process. It has a built-in USB port for data recording, which facilitates traceability and documentation in accordance with quality requirements. Its independent class 2 safety device (compliant with DIN 12880) ensures maximum protection against overheating, further enhancing the reliability of the system.
Its stackable design, ergonomic handle and compact dimensions optimise the workspace while offering a large usable volume. It is also available in two electrical versions: a 230 V version for Europe and a 120 V version for North America. Although both versions offer the same thermal performance, their electrical specifications are adapted to the standards of their respective markets.
The BINDER FD 56 can be customised with a wide range of options: viewing windows, HEPA filters, interior lighting, Ethernet interface, class 3.1 safety devices, additional Pt100 temperature probes, and multi-zone calibration certificates. Software such as APT-COM™ in its Basic, GLP or Professional versions ensures comprehensive data management and connectivity.
The FD 56 embodies the perfect combination of performance, safety, precision and energy efficiency. It meets the most stringent standards while offering flexibility of use that makes it indispensable in modern laboratories and production facilities.
