DRYVIEW 6850 laser imaging system – Unrivalled imaging performance for medical diagnostics
Carestream's DRYVIEW 6850 laser imaging system is designed to meet the highest demands of healthcare facilities for medical image production. The device combines state-of-the-art infrared laser technology with a chemical-free thermal development process, ensuring consistent image quality on photothermographic film. With broad compatibility with digital modalities such as conventional radiography (CR/DR), MRI, CT and digital mammography, the DRYVIEW 6850 integrates easily into modern, versatile clinical environments, ensuring accurate and precise reproduction of diagnostic images.
At the heart of the DRYVIEW 6850 is a rigorous, automated and secure printing process. When it receives a print command, the system automatically selects the correct film format from the installed cartridges, extracts a sheet by suction, orients it precisely, and then records the image using a laser scanning optical module. The film then passes through a heated drum that develops the image without the need for wet chemicals, reducing environmental impact while ensuring consistent quality. Finally, the film is checked by an integrated densitometer before being sorted into output trays. This fully automated cycle enables smooth, reliable and repeatable printing, which is essential for high-volume services.
Thanks to its high performance, the DRYVIEW 6850 can produce up to 160 films per hour in 35 x 43 cm format, maintaining optimal productivity even during periods of high demand. It accepts up to three film drawers simultaneously, each of which can hold different formats from a wide range. The system handles both standard films and specialised mammography films, allowing for great flexibility in clinical use. The integrated touchscreen interface facilitates daily task management, including cartridge status monitoring, mode configuration, media calibration and automatic standby mode to save energy.
The DRYVIEW 6850 has been ergonomically designed to simplify the operator's work and ensure minimal maintenance. Film loading operations are assisted by a screen, filters are accessible and cleanable, and the preventive maintenance module (PMM) can be replaced after 20,000 prints. In the event of an incident, the access hatches are easy to unlock and the system is equipped with an intuitive diagnostic interface. Quiet operation, controlled thermal stability and Ethernet network integration complete the many advantages of this device.
The Carestream DRYVIEW 6850 is much more than just a medical printing system: it is a comprehensive, robust and intelligent solution that meets the most stringent clinical requirements. It not only guarantees flawless image quality, but also ease of operation, consistent productivity and seamless integration into all diagnostic imaging environments.
