DW-7-140: a 3D Scanner Designed for Professional Dental Applications
The Dental Wings DW-7-140 is a 3D optical scanning device designed to meet the demanding needs of dental laboratories and specialist practices. Using laser triangulation combined with free movement on five axes, it accurately captures the details of positive and negative models, including dental impressions. Scanning is contactless, ensuring faithful reproduction of structures. Its accuracy of 15 µm, validated according to Dental Wings standards, ensures optimal quality for the design and manufacture of dental restorations.
Compatibility and Integrated Software Features
The DW-7-140 works with DWOS® (Dental Wings Open Software) software, compatible with version 5.0 and above. This software guides the user through the entire process: order creation, scanning, restoration design and file export for in-house or outsourced manufacturing. The formats generated are open (STL type), promoting interoperability with various CAD/CAM systems. The device supports multiple types of cases: complete models, single or Multi-Die tray abutments, abutments, adjacent teeth, occlusal keys, wax-ups and bite impressions.
Robust Design and Operating Conditions
The DW-7-140 is equipped with an integrated computer (Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD) and a wide range of connections (USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA, Ethernet, DVI, HDMI, VGA). Its scanning volume is 140 mm × 140 mm × 140 mm. It is intended for indoor use in a controlled environment with an operating temperature of 10°C to 40°C and relative humidity of 20% to 80%. To maintain accuracy, calibration is recommended after each move or significant temperature change. Models must be cleaned and disinfected before scanning to prevent cross-contamination.
