Sony DXC-950P 3CCD – Professional image excellence at your fingertips
The Sony DXC-950P 3CCD colour camera stands out for its ability to deliver remarkably clear images thanks to its 1/2-inch Power HAD three-matrix CCD sensor. This technology, combined with a horizontal resolution of 750 TV lines and a signal-to-noise ratio of 58 dB, ensures detailed images that are true to the original colours. Its sensitivity of 2000 lux at F8.5 allows it to capture clear images in low-light environments while minimising video noise and unwanted effects such as smear or artefacts caused by intense light sources.
Compact and lightweight, with dimensions of 70 × 72 × 123.5 mm and a weight of approximately 670 g, it fits easily into environments where space is limited. It can be mounted on a tripod, ceiling-mounted, integrated into a microscopy system or used as a conference room camera. This flexibility makes it an ideal tool for scientific research, medical applications, audiovisual production and surveillance.
The DXC-950P offers extended exposure control thanks to its AGC (Automatic Gain Control) and CCD Iris functions. AGC automatically increases sensitivity in low-light conditions, while CCD Iris adjusts the shutter speed to prevent overexposure. It also offers an electronic shutter with several modes, including a flicker-free mode for neon-lit environments and a clear scan mode for filming computer screens without ghosting.
Its extensive connectivity includes composite, Y/C, RGB and component video outputs, making it easy to integrate into various video systems and connect to monitors, video recorders, capture systems or video printers. It is compatible with remote control units such as the RM-C950 and RM-930, as well as the CCU-M5P camera control unit, enabling signal transmission over long distances (up to 300 metres).
For specialised applications, the DXC-950P offers a long exposure shooting function, ideal for capturing low-light images in microscopy or scientific observation. It also supports synchronisation with flashes and can be configured in master or slave mode for synchronised image capture. The numerous settings available via the on-screen menu allow precise adjustment of parameters such as white balance (automatic, manual or tracking), hue, saturation, sharpness and gamma compensation.
Image quality is further optimised by advanced colour processing using Linear Matrix mode, which ensures natural colour reproduction. Users can save different profiles in two separate memory banks for quick switching between configurations suited to different shooting conditions.
Robust and reliable, the Sony DXC-950P is designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures and humidity levels, making it ideal for continuous use in demanding environments. Its design and build quality make it a benchmark for professionals looking for a versatile, high-performance and durable camera.
