High-performance gel imaging with the E-Box CX5
The E-Box CX5 is a stand-alone gel imaging system developed by Vilber, the European leader in molecular imaging. This device combines cutting-edge technology with ergonomics designed for modern laboratories. It incorporates a 5-megapixel scientific camera (expandable to 20 megapixels) with passive cooling, ensuring optimal sensitivity for fluorescence detection. Thanks to its back-illuminated sensor and motorised lens, the CX5 achieves the lowest detection limits while reducing phototoxicity and photodegradation.
PadBox™ technology and Apps Studio™ for maximum flexibility
The PadBox™ concept of the E-Box CX5 allows for easy integration of multiple interchangeable light sources. The system automatically recognises the type of Pad used (UV, blue, white, green or red light) and adjusts the imaging and software settings accordingly. This modularity allows the CX5 to be adapted to a wide range of applications, such as DNA/RNA gels, fluorescent protein gels, stain-free gels, colony plates or microplates.
The included Apps Studio™ library offers more than 40 imaging protocols, with the excitation and emission spectra of the main fluorophores used in molecular biology. It recommends the optimal system configuration (light source, emission filter, sensitivity level) and ensures reproducible acquisition with a single click.
Ergonomics, connectivity and ease of use
The E-Box CX5 is designed for intuitive use. Its simple, self-explanatory user interface is ideal for multi-user environments. Image acquisition is automatic: select the application, activate the light source, adjust the lens, automatic exposure and UV shutdown. The system also incorporates Dynamic 3D Scan™ technology, which allows real-time visualisation of image dynamics, background level and protein or DNA quantity. The saturation effect can be controlled live before the final capture.
Its 12.6-inch Magster™ touchscreen, reinforced with magnesium protective glass, offers high-definition viewing with high contrast. The stainless steel housing ensures maximum durability, while comprehensive network connectivity facilitates integration into existing IT infrastructures.
