E4418B Agilent – EPM Series Single-Channel Power Meter
The Agilent E4418B power wattmeter is a high-precision measurement instrument designed for professionals who demand reliable performance for evaluating average power over a wide frequency range. Suitable for RF and microwave test environments, it meets the needs of laboratories, research centres and a variety of industrial applications.
Designed to be compatible with E-Series and 8480 Series power sensors, the E4418B provides a wide frequency coverage from 9 kHz to 110 GHz depending on the sensor used. It supports a power range from –70 dBm to +44 dBm, making it a versatile tool capable of measuring weak signals as well as high power levels. The unique measurement dynamics reach up to 90 dB with E-Series sensors, providing reliable results even in challenging conditions.
The E4418B's user interface has been designed for ease of use, with controls accessible via direct keys or context-sensitive menus. Measurement speeds include a normal mode at 20 readings per second, a doubled mode at 40 readings per second, and a fast mode capable of up to 200 readings per second with E-Series sensors. This power meter also includes features such as automatic zeroing and calibration, measurement offset management, configuration backup and recall, and display in dBm, Watts or relative values in dB or percentages.
Its compact and robust design (212.6 mm wide, 88.5 mm high and 348.3 mm deep with a net weight of 4 kg) makes it easy to integrate into a test bench or transport in a mobile environment. Thanks to a universal power supply (85 to 264 VAC) and the internal battery option (ref. Option 001), it can operate autonomously for up to 5.5 hours without LED backlighting, which is ideal for field operations.
The E4418B is designed for extensive connectivity, with GPIB and RS-232/422 ports for remote programming and integration into automated systems. Its compatibility with U2000X USB sensors and the new generation of N8480 thermocouple sensors makes it a long-term investment for years of use.
By complying with strict safety and electromagnetic immunity standards, the E4418B ensures stable measurements in a variety of environments.
