DT80 : Electrode Vacuum System
The DT80 by Strässle represents a significant advancement in ECG diagnostic technology, providing a high level of accuracy and convenience for medical professionals. Designed in compliance with the European Medical Device Directive 93/42/EWG, the DT80 ensures a secure and efficient ECG recording process, suitable for both resting and exercise ECGs.
One of the standout features of the DT80 is its vacuum electrode system, which uses a controlled vacuum to firmly attach electrodes to the patient’s body. This secure fixation is particularly beneficial in ergometry, where movement and sweat could otherwise compromise the quality of ECG readings. By maintaining a stable electrode position, the DT80 reduces the likelihood of artifacts and enhances diagnostic reliability.
The system is optimized for moderate clinical use, handling up to 5 exercise ECGs or 20 resting ECGs per day. It is designed for use in medical practices rather than high-volume or continuous operation environments. This makes it an ideal choice for practitioners who require dependable ECG diagnostics without the need for constant use.
The DT80’s design incorporates several components to facilitate ease of use and ensure effective performance. The electrode cables, including R, L, N, F, and C1 to C6, are part of a specially designed combined electrode head that adheres to the patient’s body with minimal effort. The head features a silver/silver-chloride electrode for accurate measurements and is equipped with self-locking mechanisms to ensure proper attachment.
A key feature of the DT80 is its support arm, which is telescopically adjustable and swiveling, allowing for precise positioning of the electrodes. The arm's central swivel joint enables easy and quick adjustments, enhancing the convenience for the operator and ensuring optimal electrode placement.
The vacuum unit of the DT80 controls the vacuum level necessary for electrode attachment. It includes a robust vacuum pump and an adapted pressure vessel, managed by a microprocessor control unit for precise operation. The rear of the vacuum unit houses the power socket, on/off switch, vacuum connector, and control unit socket.
The control unit is designed for user-friendly operation, featuring an ON/OFF button, four pressure level buttons, and light-emitting diodes for clear functional and status indications. This unit allows for straightforward adjustment of vacuum levels and ensures continuous, reliable operation.
The DT80 is equipped with defibrillation protection to safeguard subsequent devices and reduce the risk of interference with high-frequency fields and emissions. The device meets the CE requirements under the Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EWG and adheres to the basic safety and performance standards outlined in Annex VII.
For transport and storage, the DT80 operates effectively within a temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, with relative humidity between 10% and 80% and atmospheric pressure from 500 hPa to 1060 hPa. During operation, it functions within an ambient temperature of +10°C to +40°C, relative humidity of 30% to 75%, and atmospheric pressure of 700 hPa to 1060 hPa.
The DT80 Vacuum System by Strässle is a reliable, efficient, and user-friendly solution for ECG diagnostics, offering secure electrode fixation and precise measurement capabilities in a variety of clinical settings.
