IKATRON ETC 1: A High-Precision Temperature Controller for Laboratory Applications
The IKATRON ETC 1 from IKA is a high-precision thermal regulation device designed for use with IKA magnetic stirrers. This controller is designed to maintain a constant temperature within a range of 0 to 350°C, with a resolution of 0.1°C in the range of 0 to 100°C and 1°C in the range of 100°C to 350°C.
The IKATRON ETC 1 uses a Pt1000 sensor, ensuring precise temperature measurements, and provides excellent accuracy with a measurement tolerance of only ±0.3°C, in addition to the sensor tolerance. Temperature management is achieved through a two-point controller with low hysteresis, ensuring optimal thermal stability during experiments.
The device is equipped with a clear LCD display, allowing for easy real-time data reading, displaying both actual temperature and setpoint temperature. The setpoint temperature can be adjusted with a precision of 1K by pressing the "+" or "-" buttons, and faster adjustments of 10K are possible by holding the button down for 5 seconds.
The IKATRON ETC 1 is particularly suited for laboratory tasks requiring precise thermal control, such as in heating processes for oils or low-viscosity liquids. It is recommended to use containers with flat bottoms and to set the magnetic stirrer's heating plate temperature to approximately twice the setpoint temperature for optimal results.
The device is also designed for safety and durability, featuring splash protection of IP44 type and a robust construction that allows continuous use at 100%. The temperature sensor, which is easily replaceable, can be swapped without difficulty to ensure long-term performance.
