ELLIPS® FX by Abbott: Technology for optimal surgical efficiency
ELLIPS® FX by Abbott ( Johnson & Johnson Vision) represents a major advance in phacoemulsification. This handpiece is specially designed to improve surgical productivity while reducing post-operative risks. It uses a continuous elliptical movement of the tip, combining longitudinal and transverse modes, to provide a smoother and more effective cut of the lens nucleus.
This unique elliptical movement allows for better fragment retention at the tip of the lens, improving followability and precision during surgery. This technology helps reduce phacoemulsification time, resulting in less corneal oedema and endothelial cell loss compared to other competing handpieces.
The ELLIPS® FX is compatible with all Johnson & Johnson Vision phaco tips, whether curved, flared or straight. This extensive compatibility allows surgeons to adapt their technique to their preferences without compromising performance. In addition, the heat generated during use is concentrated at the hub, away from the incision, reducing the risk of wound burns.
Designed for use with WHITESTAR SIGNATURE™ PRO, COMPACT INTUITIV™ and WHITESTAR SIGNATURE™ systems, ELLIPS® FX fits seamlessly into modern surgical environments. It offers fast response, ergonomic handling and proven reliability, meeting the demands of even the most experienced ophthalmic surgeons.
The handpiece is also designed for efficient sterilisation and simplified maintenance, ensuring a long service life and maximum patient safety. It must not be cleaned with ultrasonic devices or tap water in order to preserve the internal piezoelectric crystals.
The ELLIPS® FX is a high-performance phacoemulsification solution that combines cutting-edge technology, safety and flexibility. It enables healthcare professionals to perform faster, safer and more effective procedures, while improving outcomes for patients.
