EmStat blue 3+ PalmSens – Portable potentiostat with Bluetooth and USB connectivity
The EmStat blue 3+ from PalmSens is a compact potentiostat designed to meet the needs of researchers, engineers and technicians requiring reliable and versatile electrochemical measurements. This model stands out for its Bluetooth connectivity in addition to USB, offering greater freedom of use, particularly in mobile environments. With its anodised aluminium housing, it can withstand demanding working conditions while remaining easy to transport thanks to its compact size and weight of only 250 grams.
Performance and extended measurement range
The EmStat blue 3+ offers a potential range from -4,000 V to +4,000 V, with a measurement accuracy of ±0.1% and a maximum offset of 2 mV. Its applied potential resolution of 0.125 mV and its ability to measure currents ranging from 1 nA to 100 mA over 9 distinct ranges make it suitable for both low-intensity analyses and applications requiring higher currents. The device incorporates a high-impedance electrometer (> 100 GΩ) and a fast rise time of approximately 100 μs, ensuring stable and accurate measurements.
Versatility of electrochemical techniques
This potentiostat supports a wide range of voltammetric techniques such as linear voltammetry (LSV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), square wave voltammetry (SWV), normal pulse voltammetry (NPV) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). It also allows chronoamperometric, chronocoulometric, pulse amperometric detection (PAD), open-circuit potentiometry (OCP) and multistep amperometry measurements. These methods can be applied with automatic current range adjustment, automatically optimising sensitivity according to the measurement conditions.
Optimised autonomy and connectivity
The EmStat blue 3+ is equipped with an internal Li-Po battery offering more than 6 hours of use with a Bluetooth connection, which can be extended to more than 24 hours with an external power supply. Full recharging takes approximately 3 hours. The device can also be powered via USB, ensuring continuity of work in the laboratory. Its compatibility with PSTrace software for Windows and PSTouch for Android allows complete control of measurements and clear display of results on both computers and tablets.
Thanks to its auxiliary port, the EmStat blue 3+ can be combined with several accessories to expand its experimental capabilities. The MUX8-R2 and MUX16 multiplexers allow multiple electrodes to be managed simultaneously, optimising measurements on sensor networks or multi-electrode systems. A magnetic stirrer controlled by the device is available for analyses requiring homogeneous mixing of the solution. In addition, the LM35 temperature sensor ensures accurate monitoring of experimental conditions, and the DEA differential electrometric amplifier offers the possibility of working with differential signals at different gain values.
