WM-60 Olympus: A Mobile Station Designed for Endoscopy
The Olympus WM-60 is a mobile station specifically developed for the field of endoscopy, offering an ergonomic and reliable solution for the installation of medical equipment. Designed to adapt to hospital environments, this medical cart is compact, durable, and easy to maneuver, ensuring smooth daily handling.
Its structure is made of a composite material: glass-reinforced polyester (GRP). This manufacturing choice, inspired by the aeronautical and automotive sectors, provides the WM-60 with enhanced resistance to mechanical and thermal stresses while maintaining a controlled weight. Each component is molded under high pressure and temperature, ensuring optimal density and precise finishing.
Stability is a central focus in the design of the WM-60. It meets tilt tests of 10° in all directions, proving its reliability even when fully loaded. The structure has undergone extensive finite element analyses, optimizing critical components such as shelves and the monitor platform. These improvements ensure long-term optimal resistance, even under intensive use.
The cart has undergone numerous durability and strength tests, replicating the real conditions of a demanding hospital environment. These evaluations have validated its robustness against the stresses of transportation, repeated movements, and frequent handling.
The WM-60 is designed to facilitate the work of medical staff by integrating practical and adjustable elements. It features a platform that can accommodate monitors ranging from 14 to 20 inches, with a 99° rotation system and adjustable tilt. This flexibility allows users to adapt their viewing angle according to their needs.
An endoscope holder has been added for the secure storage of two Olympus endoscopes, along with video therapy accessories. This support is fully height-adjustable, providing optimal storage for long colonoscopes.
The keyboard benefits from an ergonomic, adjustable support that can be attached to the side frame for better accessibility. When not in use, it can be discreetly folded away, freeing up workspace.
The WM-60 complies with major medical regulations, including the EN IEC 60601-1-1 standard, which ensures its safe use in hospital environments. It also meets the electromagnetic compatibility requirements of EN IEC 60601-1-2, ensuring interference-free integration with other medical equipment.
Its cable management system allows for clean and efficient organization of connections, reducing the risk of entanglement and improving workplace safety.
