EUP-054J – Reliable Intraoperative Ultrasound Probe for Critical Applications
The Hitachi EUP-054J probe is a Class IIa medical device specifically designed for ultrasound imaging in surgical environments. Featuring linear array technology, this probe operates at a centre frequency of 10 MHz, ideal for detailed imaging of superficial structures. Its 25 mm scan width allows for accurate and targeted visualisation of the anatomical areas of interest.
Intended for use exclusively with Hitachi diagnostic ultrasound systems, the EUP-054J probe is suitable for three main types of examination: intraoperative, peripheral vascular and musculoskeletal.
The probe must be cleaned, disinfected and then sterilised before first use. Only the immersible part (identified as IPX7) can be immersed in a disinfectant or cleaning liquid, while the non-immersible components must be disinfected by wiping. Compatibility with ETO gas and plasma sterilisation processes (STERRAD® 50, 100S, 200) ensures optimal safety for critical surgical applications. Autoclave sterilisation is prohibited as it would irreparably damage the device.
Its design includes a detachable handle that can be rotated in several directions for ergonomic use in the operating theatre. The use of the EZU-WB1 waterproof case is recommended during washer-disinfector cycles to protect the connector from contact with liquids.
The EUP-054J probe is made from biocompatible, hypoallergenic materials. It weighs approximately 0.65 kg with cable and connector, and its contact surface temperature must not exceed 42°C. For safe use, it must be handled with care: impacts, drops or exposure of the connector to water may cause malfunctions.
It must be completely dried at room temperature or controlled temperature before being stored in a dry, cool place away from direct light.
Thanks to its accuracy and ergonomic design, the EUP-054J probe fits perfectly into demanding surgical protocols, guaranteeing practitioners consistent reliability throughout their procedures.
