EXPLORER 9000 portable XRF analyser: for detecting heavy metals in contaminated soil
The Skyray EXPLORER 9000 is a portable XRF analyser specifically designed for detecting heavy metals in contaminated soil. It is intended for professionals in the environmental, agricultural, industrial and research sectors who need a reliable, mobile solution for performing analytical readings in the field. This device can effectively measure elements such as mercury, lead, arsenic, cadmium, nickel, copper, zinc, chromium, manganese and cobalt. It can also be configured to include other elements according to specific user requirements.
Thanks to its energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) technology, the EXPLORER 9000 provides rapid analysis, with results generated in just one second. The system features a miniature X-ray tube, a Fast-SDD detector, a powerful digital processor and an integrated 5-megapixel HD camera. The 5-inch touchscreen can be rotated 360° for optimal user comfort, regardless of ambient light conditions.
The device also features GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth, making it easy to geolocate samples and transmit data. It is therefore particularly suitable for pollution mapping campaigns, industrial or agricultural site monitoring, and soil remediation operations. Its intensity correction system compensates for differences in sample geometry or density.
Weighing only 1.7 kg and with a battery life of up to three days with the optional 27000mAh battery, the EXPLORER 9000 is easy to transport and use without interruption. Its software offers two modes of use: a user mode for easy handling and an expert mode for advanced analysis. A three-colour LED signalling system indicates the status of the device (powered on, testing, or error).
Safety is enhanced by several protective features, such as radiation shielding, a sample presence sensor and an anti-diffusion wall. When no sample is present, the X-rays are not activated.
