Description

Fiberlite F14-6x250y rotor – Performance and reliability at high speeds

The Fiberlite F14-6x250y is a fixed-angle rotor designed by Thermo Scientific for laboratories requiring performance, light weight and safety. Made from carbon fibre composite, this 6-position rotor accommodates 250 mL tubes and can reach speeds of up to 14,000 rpm, while generating a maximum centrifugal force of 30,240 × g. Thanks to its low weight of 8 kg, it is easy to handle manually, reduces stress on the centrifuge motors and helps to extend the service life of the equipment.

With an angle of 23°, the rotor promotes rapid sedimentation of samples while minimising tube deformation. Its design also optimises aerodynamics for uniform distribution of centrifugal force. Safety is enhanced by Public Health England's biocontainment certification, ensuring the protection of personnel and the environment when handling hazardous biological materials.

Compatible with a wide range of tubes and adapters, including disposable conical tubes, Oak Ridge bottles and Nalgene tubes of various volumes, the F14-6x250y ensures maximum flexibility. The tube closure system, integrated into each adapter, prevents leaks and preserves sample integrity during high-speed cycles.

The carbon fibre construction not only ensures superior strength but also excellent resistance to chemical corrosion and fatigue from repeated centrifugation cycles.

This rotor integrates seamlessly with Sorvall Lynx 6000 and 4000 centrifuges, maximising their potential in pharmaceutical production, biotechnology and medical research applications.
