JA-25.50: A high-performance rotor for demanding applications
The JA-25.50 rotor is a key component of Beckman Coulter’s high-capacity centrifuges in the Avanti® J and J2 series. Engineered for performance and safety, this rotor delivers high-speed separations with precision while maintaining structural integrity, even under demanding lab conditions. It is especially suitable for processing large volumes of cells, tissue homogenates, or virus particles.
Constructed from anodized aluminum, the JA-25.50 combines durability with lightweight design. Its 34-degree fixed-angle configuration accommodates eight 50 mL tubes, providing a total capacity of 400 mL. Its patented fluid containment annulus captures any potential spills, effectively keeping fluids contained within the rotor, even if all eight tubes were to leak simultaneously. This feature greatly reduces the risk of chamber contamination and ensures biosafety compliance.
It has been independently validated for microbiological containment under standard operating conditions. Integrated finger grips around each cavity provide added convenience for loading and unloading tubes, enhancing usability.
This rotor is compatible with a wide variety of labware, including polycarbonate, polyallomer, and polypropylene tubes with or without caps. Partial and full fills are supported, provided that opposing cavities are balanced with equal volume and density. For smaller volumes, specific adapters are available.
The rotor is easy to maintain and can be autoclaved at 121°C. With proper cleaning, lubrication, and storage as recommended, the JA-25.50 ensures long-term reliability, even in high-throughput laboratory environments.
