FLOWBOT ONE: a simple and accurate pipetting robot for the modern laboratory
The FLOWBOT ONE from Flow Robotics is an automated pipetting robot that facilitates liquid handling tasks in standard laboratory environments. Operating by air displacement, it is designed for processing liquids compatible with conventional pipette tips. Its design allows for quick start-up: creating and executing a protocol takes less than 30 minutes. Thanks to a web interface accessible via a browser (including Google Chrome), users can control the robot without dedicated software, with CSV compatibility for input and output data as well as for programming.
The device includes a workspace with 12 SLAS (SBS) positions, which can accommodate various racks, plates and accessories up to 115 mm in height. Its stainless steel work surface with central glass plate ensures durability and cleanliness suitable for everyday use. The robot is available with different pipette modules (1, 4 or 8 channels) covering volumes from 1 to 1000 µL, ensuring accuracy in line with or exceeding the ISO-8655 standard. The aspiration and dispensing speeds are adjustable and allow efficient filling of 96-well plates.
Traceability is ensured for all operations, with automatic component recognition thanks to a patented QR code system. Options such as a UV-C disinfection system or HEPA-filtered airflow can be added to enhance workplace hygiene and safety. Third-party devices such as stirrers, cooling systems or barcode readers can be integrated via USB or RS232 ports.
The robot also features low noise levels (<60 dB), a small footprint and moderate energy consumption. Maintenance is designed for 1,000 hours of use per year, with clear service intervals depending on the intensity of use. The FLOWBOT ONE has an estimated service life of five years under normal conditions of use.
