NIDEK's AFC-230 Digital Retinal Camera: Revolutionary Innovation for Simplified Retinal Screening
NIDEK introduces the revolutionary non-mydriatic digital retinal camera AFC-230, integrating all the necessary features for simplified retinal screening. The customized features of the AFC-230 enhance the accuracy and efficiency of ophthalmological medical examinations.
High-Quality Retinal Imaging
With an innovative imaging optical system, the AFC-230 achieves high-resolution digital retinal imaging with fine gradation. This gradation allows clear and detailed visualization of the entire retinal image, from the bright optic disc to darker pathological areas. With significantly reduced noise, the system provides retinal photographs with minimal flash exposure, ensuring quick and effective examination of both eyes and reducing patient discomfort. Equipped with an advanced optical system and a large sensor, the AFC-230 delivers high-quality images with a true field of view of 45°.
The AFC-230 is the world's first fully automatic non-mydriatic camera, equipped with advanced auto-tracking, auto-focus, and auto-capture technology. The auto-tracking feature enables precise and easy alignment on the anterior corneal center, while auto-focus ensures optimal sharpness. Once the retina is in focus, the Auto Shot function provides high-quality imaging without the need for manual manipulation of the retina.
AFC-230 Features
Precise observation of the anterior eye before imaging
The AFC-230 features a 5.7-inch TFT LCD screen (640 x 480), in addition to the special optical system, CCD camera, and high-resolution monitor for observing the anterior eye. This allows precise confirmation of the anterior eye condition (such as ptosis, ingrown eyelashes, nystagmus, cataracts, corneal disorders, etc.), ensuring high-quality retinal photographs.
Flexible viewing angle
Without the need for an adapter, the AFC-230 can capture a detailed image of a smaller field of view with high quality using a 35mm overview in a 45º viewing angle.
Unique blink control function
With automatic blink detection, the AFC-230 automatically pauses photo capture when the patient blinks.
Anterior eye capture mode
By pressing the dedicated anterior eye capture button, the AFC-230 automatically switches to capture mode to provide a clear image of the anterior eye.
Smaller pupil capture mode
In addition to the regular minimum pupil diameter of ø4.0 mm, the AFC-230 can detect an even smaller pupil diameter - minimum of 3.7 mm. When the patient's pupil diameter is smaller than the standard 4.0 mm, the AFC-230 automatically switches to a mode suitable for the smaller diameter.
Stereo capture mode *
Stereo retinal imaging is also an available option.
* A stereo viewer is required (optional).
Fast image transfer to a computer
Connecting to a computer via USB 2.0 ensures quick and easy image transfer. Data can also be saved to an external electronic file system via NAVIS-Lite.
Ergonomic design for convenient use in low-light environments
