G1157A Valve - Good Condition

The Agilent G1157A valve is a 2-position/10-port switching valve designed for 1100 series HPLC systems. Integrated into the system's CAN network, it enables the automation of chromatographic analyses, including alternate column regeneration. Thanks to its robust stainless steel and PEEK design, it can withstand pressures of up to 6000 psi and ensures reliable operation for high-flow applications. Compatible with ChemStation software, it offers precise injection control, efficient column management and a significant reduction in analysis time.

Description

Agilent G1157A – 2-position/10-port valve for flexible and high-performance HPLC applications

The Agilent G1157A valve is an essential component for optimising the performance of 1100 series HPLC systems. This 2-position/10-port valve is specifically designed to meet the growing needs of laboratories for automation, flexibility and analysis throughput. It integrates seamlessly into the CAN environment of Agilent 1100 modules, enabling smooth communication with other system components via ChemStation software or a manual controller.

One of the main applications of the G1157A is alternate column regeneration. This feature allows simultaneous analysis on one column while the second is being regenerated, without interrupting the workflow. This process significantly increases the analytical throughput by eliminating downtime between injections. The use of this valve also optimises analytical methods based on gradient elution, ensuring that the columns are always ready for use.

The G1157A also stands out for its robustness and precision. The materials in contact with liquids – stainless steel and PEEK – guarantee excellent chemical resistance and long-term durability, even under the most demanding conditions of use. Each port accepts 10-32 male threaded fittings, and the internal channel diameters (0.6 mm) ensure optimal flow passage with reduced volume, minimising downtime and chromatographic peak dispersion.

Configuration via ChemStation is intuitive: the user can program automated position changes based on time or events, with real-time display of valve statuses . In addition, the EMF (Early Maintenance Feedback) function allows monitoring of the number of switches and anticipates preventive maintenance based on defined thresholds, thus avoiding unexpected interruptions.

The G1157A is easy to install, whether on a bench or mounted on a column rack (G1383A organiser). It can be powered by 1100 series modules or via an external power supply, ensuring great flexibility of integration.

The Agilent G1157A valve offers a complete solution for laboratories requiring high-performance automation, optimised column management and significant productivity gains. Its technical design, extensive compatibility and software features make it an essential tool for chromatographic analysis in regulated or research environments.
