G1312B SL Binary Pump

The Agilent G1312B SL is a high-performance binary pump designed for 1200 series HPLC systems. Featuring a dual-piston hydraulic system, it delivers accurate and stable flow, even at high pressures up to 600 bar. Thanks to its high-pressure binary mixing and low dead volumes, it is ideal for demanding chromatography applications requiring speed, accuracy and reproducibility. Compatible with the Agilent ChemStation platform and other controllers, it ensures seamless integration, proactive maintenance and optimal laboratory safety.

Description

G1312B SL Binary Pump – Performance and precision for high-pressure liquid chromatography

The Agilent 1200 Series G1312B Binary Pump SL meets the most demanding laboratory requirements for flow rate, pressure, gradient accuracy and robustness. Designed with twin in-line piston pump technology combined with servo-controlled variable stroke, this pump delivers exceptional flow stability and repeatability for the most critical analytical applications. Its floating piston system and active inlet valves ensure smooth, controlled solvent compression, limiting pressure pulsations, which is essential for achieving sharp, reproducible chromatographic peaks.

The G1312B offers adjustable flow rates from 0.001 to 5 mL/min with an effective range of 0.05 to 5.0 mL/min, making it suitable for both routine analyses and more resolution-demanding methods. Its flow accuracy is remarkable, with a variation of less than 0.07% RSD or 0.02 standard deviation under the most stringent conditions. This allows analysts to maintain consistent retention times and accurate results even under complex operating conditions.

Designed for operation at up to 600 bar pressure, this pump is ideally suited to the increasing demands of sub-2 µm particle columns, which are often used in UHPLC techniques. It offers two dead volume configurations: a standard configuration between 600 and 800 µL with an integrated 400 µL mixer, and a low dead volume configuration of only 120 µL. This flexibility allows the instrument to be adapted to various methods, particularly those requiring a rapid response to gradient changes.

Composition accuracy is less than 0.15% RSD and accuracy is maintained at ±0.35% absolute, ensuring perfect control of solvent mixtures, a crucial criterion in quantitative analysis or method development. Compressibility compensation is automated, taking into account the specific properties of the solvent used to ensure optimal flow control.

The G1312B is also designed to integrate seamlessly into the Agilent software ecosystem, including ChemStation, EZChrom Elite and the G4208A portable controller. It supports various communication interfaces (CAN, RS-232C, APG Remote, LAN) for easy integration into automated or remote systems. Integrated safety features include leak detection, a secure solvent management system in case of problems, and extensive diagnostics to anticipate maintenance needs.

The modular and recyclable design of the G1312B, combined with GLP-compliant features such as automatic maintenance reminders and electronic recording of errors and interventions, make it a reliable and durable tool for modern laboratory environments.
