Giotto from Diapath: an innovative solution for high-quality histo-cytological staining
The Giotto de Diapath is an automatic staining system designed to offer maximum flexibility and meet the varied requirements of modern histology and cytology laboratories. Designed to guarantee reliable and reproducible results, this device allows high-quality staining to be carried out while adapting to the specific needs of each facility. Its design incorporates innovative technological solutions, a compact and ergonomic design and ease of use to optimise laboratory workflows.
The Giotto system supports various types of staining, including H&E, PAP and special stains. Thanks to its robotic arm equipped with ultrasonic sensors, it automatically scans the reagent levels to ensure consistent quality over time. It also offers intelligent protocol management via the Simultaneous Staining Scheduler (S3) software, which maximises productivity by optimising reagent configuration. The Stain ID device enables automatic basket recognition and simultaneous management of different protocols, reducing the risk of errors and increasing the reliability of analyses.
The Giotto stands out for its ability to perform on-board mounting thanks to the Cristallo® solution, an innovative xylene-free reagent that forms a homogeneous and transparent layer on the slides. This feature saves significant time while ensuring optimal results, even for large slides (Mega Slides). Safety is also at the heart of the system, with a built-in activated carbon filter to capture harmful vapours, a software-controlled door closure system and an emergency stop button for peace of mind in everyday use.
With impressive productivity of up to 300 to 600 slides per hour, the Giotto is suitable for both small laboratories and large-scale facilities. Its compact size allows two units to be installed in the space usually occupied by a single unit from another brand, providing an ideal solution for parallel work and continuity of operations. Traceability is ensured by recording all staining steps, allowing an interrupted cycle to be resumed without loss of data or samples.
Designed and manufactured in Italy, the Giotto illustrates Diapath's commitment to excellence and innovation. It is the ideal tool for professionals looking for a high-performance, reliable and scalable automated system for their daily histocytology needs.
