GloMax Navigator – High-performance microplate luminometer
The GloMax Navigator is a luminescence detection system designed for life science research applications. Integrating a high-performance luminometer and a tablet PC with GloMax Navigator software, it offers an intuitive interface that allows researchers to quickly start measurements, configure complex protocols or view results. This system is compatible with the entire range of Promega bioluminescence assays, including gene reporter assays, biochemical analyses and live cell assays.
With its high sensitivity and dynamic range of over 9 logs, the instrument is capable of detecting extremely low levels of luciferase activity while effectively handling intense signals without saturation. Optional injectors allow for rapid and controlled injection of reagents, suitable for glow or flash readings.
Features and connectivity
The device stands out for its ease of use and varied connectivity options. The integration of a Windows 8.1 or 10 Pro tablet, connected to the instrument via USB, allows direct control, the creation of customised protocols and immediate data analysis. Results can be exported to a local network, USB stick or cloud storage, meeting the sharing and archiving needs of laboratories.
The GloMax Navigator complies with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements, ensuring user authentication and authorisation, data protection and integrity, and traceability through electronic signatures and audit trails. This compliance makes it particularly suitable for regulated environments requiring strict control of experimental data.
Applications and performance
Optical performance is based on a top-reading photon-counting photomultiplier tube covering a spectral range from 350 to 700 nm. The detection limit is 1.5 × 10⁻²¹ moles of luciferase, enabling the detection of extremely weak signals. The integrated software offers various readout modes, including glow, flash, kinetic and repeated, providing maximum flexibility for experimental protocols.
The handling of 96-well microplates is optimised thanks to an ergonomic sample drawer and simple well plate configuration. The system allows the implementation of readout loops, extended time analyses and the integration of injection functions directly into the measurement sequences. This versatility makes it suitable for enzyme kinetics studies, cell signal analysis or the measurement of fast bioluminescent reactions.
