HB 4 digital: Reliable Temperature Control for Medical Laboratories
The HB 4 digital from IKA meets the rigorous requirements of medical and scientific laboratories for precise heating and homogeneous mixing. Designed for applications where control of thermal parameters is crucial, this device allows substances to be heated directly in its 5-litre stainless steel chamber.
The temperature can be set between ambient temperature and 200 °C with an accuracy of ±1 K. The LCD display shows the actual temperature and the setpoint at all times. Control is via a Fuzzy Logic system, which allows the target temperature to be reached quickly without overshooting or instability, thus ensuring reliable results even with sensitive fluids.
The HB 4 digital has three operating modes, including a secure mode that prevents unauthorised changes to the settings. The device also has an independent safety system that monitors the temperature and switches off the heating in the event of a fault. Error messages displayed on the screen facilitate immediate diagnosis.
Although this model does not have a built-in stirring function (unlike the HBR4 digital version), it retains all the high-precision temperature control features, with a simple, ergonomic user interface that complies with medical safety standards.
Thanks to its robust design and compatibility with various heat transfer fluids such as demineralised water or certain low-viscosity oils, the HB 4 digital is suitable for a wide range of laboratory applications, including sample preparation protocols, enzyme tests or chemical reactions requiring a stable temperature.
The chamber material, made of 1.4301 stainless steel, ensures excellent corrosion resistance and facilitates cleaning, an essential advantage in medical environments where hygiene is paramount. Its compact design allows for easy integration into laboratory benches without compromising thermal performance.
