HI97715 Portable Ammonia Photometer: Built-in accuracy for your environmental analyses
Designed to meet the needs of demanding professionals, the HI97715 Portable Ammonia Photometer from Hanna Instruments is much more than just a measuring device: it is a true ally for water quality control in the laboratory and in the field. This new-generation photometer combines a robust design with cutting-edge optical technology, ensuring exemplary measurement accuracy and reproducibility, even under intensive use or outdoors.
Ammonia is a critical chemical indicator in the assessment of water pollution. Highly soluble, it is naturally produced by the decomposition of organic matter containing nitrogen. Excessive concentrations of ammonia can seriously harm aquatic ecosystems. The HI97715 measures this concentration with a resolution of 0.01 mg/L and remarkable accuracy of ±0.05 mg/L (±5%), making it an essential tool for reliable ammonia nitrogen analysis.
This photometer is based on the Nessler method, recognised for its sensitivity and reliability, and complies with ASTM D1426-92. It incorporates a high-performance optical system combining a high-intensity LED and a narrow-band filter centred at 420 nm, enabling excellent spectral separation and consistent results, even after multiple uses. The exclusive CAL CHECK function allows quick and reliable calibration of the device using certified standards, ensuring accurate and traceable measurements at all times.
The HI97715 is designed with the user in mind: IP67 waterproof housing that floats if dropped, large backlit display with intuitive context-sensitive keys, memory function for up to 50 measurements, and automatic shut-off to preserve battery life (up to 800 measurements with 3 AA batteries). It also incorporates GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) functionality, ensuring the traceability of calibration data. These features make it a powerful yet easy-to-use photometer, suitable for field professionals, water treatment technicians and researchers.
Thanks to its accuracy, reliability and robust design, the HI97715 meets the highest requirements for ammonia analysis in aqueous solutions. It offers an excellent compromise between laboratory technology and field usability, while offering a very competitive cost per test.
