The Auriga XL Holmium Laser - Performance and Versatility
This device is a medical device intended for various applications in urology. It offers a versatile solution for lithotripsy and interventions related to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Regarding lithotripsy, the Auriga XL Laser is effective for breaking down kidney, ureteral, and bladder stones, as well as for reducing stones to dust, thereby improving patient comfort.
For procedures related to BPH, the laser is suitable for Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP), transurethral incision of the prostate (TUIP), and bladder neck incision (BNI). Additionally, it can be used to treat ureteral and urethral strictures, as well as for the ablation and resection of bladder, urinary tract, and urethral tumors, including condylomas.
This laser offers three modes with different pre-set pulse durations: lithotripsy mode with a short pulse width, ablation mode with a medium pulse width, and coagulation mode with a long pulse width.
An innovative aspect of the Auriga XL is its intelligent fiber recognition capability. It is compatible with LightTrail Laser fibers, including the 270 µm fiber capable of generating an 18 Hz frequency. The console automatically detects the size and type of connected fiber, ensuring precise optical matching between the fiber and the console for increased power at the fiber tip and reduced risk of fiber breakage.
Finally, the Auriga XL Holmium Laser is a versatile medical device, approved not only for urological applications but also for various medical specialties, including gastroenterology, otolaryngology (ENT), gynecology, arthroscopy, general surgery, and pulmonology.
