HVF-100 by Huvitz: A high-precision automated perimeter compliant with Goldmann standards
The HVF-100 from Huvitz represents a new generation of automated perimeters designed to provide accurate, fast and reliable visual field diagnosis. This instrument is based on the Goldmann standard White-on-White principle and uses an LED light source, ensuring a long service life without light degradation or the need for frequent calibrations. This technology not only reduces maintenance, but also ensures consistent exam quality.
Once the patient is positioned, the HVF-100 simplifies the process with automatic recognition of the eye being tested, thus avoiding input errors. It also automatically measures the pupil diameter, allowing the test parameters to be adjusted according to the patient's physiology. These features are combined with a motorised headrest and chin rest, providing optimal stability throughout the examination. Patient comfort is enhanced by clear voice prompts delivered by the integrated guidance system, reducing stress and improving cooperation during the test.
Equipped with an integrated PC running Windows 10, the HVF-100 minimises the risk of software failures often encountered with external configurations. The 14-inch capacitive touchscreen ensures smooth operation for the operator, with an ergonomic and intuitive interface. Thanks to its compatibility with the DICOM protocol, data can be easily managed and transferred within medical information systems.
The HVF-100's performance extends to a variety of standardised tests, including threshold protocols such as 10-2, 24-2, 30-2, 60-4 and macular, as well as screening tests such as C-40, P-60 and FF-135. Specialised tests are also available, including monocular and binocular Esterman, horizontal field testing, and programmes dedicated to driver monitoring and blind spot analysis in cases of optic disc oedema. This wide range allows for optimal adaptation to clinical needs and the pathology being studied.
The device incorporates intelligent interactive strategies such as SIN and Fast SIN, which are particularly useful in complex neurological examinations. It offers in-depth glaucoma analyses, including the Glaucoma Hemifield Test (GHT), the VFI index and detailed monocular and binocular reports, facilitating clinical interpretation.
The reliability of the results is ensured by a comprehensive fixation monitoring system, including blind spot control according to Heijl/Krakau, video monitoring of the eye, and tracking of head and gaze position. In the event of errors or uncertainties, the operator can retest only the unreliable points, optimising examination time while maintaining diagnostic quality.
Compact, lightweight (14 kg) and elegant, the HVF-100 fits easily into any modern ophthalmology practice. It is an indispensable tool for glaucoma screening and monitoring, as well as for demanding neuro-ophthalmological analyses. Its ability to generate clear, standardised reports that are understandable internationally makes it one of the most powerful and versatile instruments in its class.
