HydroFlex™: Versatile platform for microplate washing and filtration
HydroFlex™ is designed to meet the varied requirements of academic, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and clinical laboratories. It supports several types of 96-well plates: strip plates, full-size flat-bottom or round-bottom plates, and half-size low-volume plates. This flexibility allows for optimal adaptation to different experimental protocols.
The platform can be configured with 8- or 16-channel manifolds for simultaneous washing of multiple wells and features an automated vacuum filtration system. It is also compatible with magnetic bead plates, thanks to a dedicated magnetic holder. These options make HydroFlex™ particularly suitable for ELISA applications, delicate cell washing, protein arrays and post-PCR cleaning.
Cutting-edge technology for maximum reliability
HydroFlex™ incorporates online control features that ensure increased safety and reliability. The process control manifold monitors wash steps in overflow mode and detects clogged needles by conductivity. The liquid level detection (LLD) system monitors levels in buffer and waste bottles, while the bubble sensor checks the buffer supply.
The pump system is designed for long-lasting performance: the speed-controlled dispensing pump enables precise dosing, and the dual-head suction pump ensures minimal residual volume, even with foaming buffers. The design separates moving parts from the liquid, reducing wear and maintenance costs. Extensive testing has demonstrated a mean time to first failure (MTFF) of over 40,000 plates.
Software integration and regulatory compliance
HydroFlex™ is compatible with HydroControl™ software, which offers a library of predefined plates and sample wash programmes. This software also allows offline programming and data transfer via USB. It complies with FDA CFR 21 part 11 regulations, with user management and electronic signatures.
The system can be integrated with the Freedom EVO® and Freedom EVOlyzer® automated platforms, or used in stand-alone mode thanks to its integrated keypad. All critical parameters, such as dispensing and aspiration speed, as well as the position of the wash head, are fully configurable.
