Memmert ICO105 – CO₂ incubator for cell culture
The Memmert ICO105 CO₂ incubator is designed to meet the rigorous requirements of laboratories working with cell, bacterial or tissue cultures. Offering a perfectly controlled environment, it maintains stable temperature, humidity and gas concentration conditions, which are essential for ensuring optimal growth and viability of samples. Its adjustable temperature range from +18 °C to +50 °C, combined with a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C, guarantees precise control of experimental conditions.
Humidity control, provided by a Peltier element, limits the relative humidity to 93% ± 2.5%, reducing the risk of condensation and thus protecting sensitive cultures. Optional active humidity control extends the adjustment range from 40 to 97% rh. The incubator also manages CO₂ concentration using a dual-beam NDIR measurement system with barometric compensation and self-diagnostics, offering 0.1% control accuracy and remarkable stability over time. For applications requiring oxygen control, a control range of 1 to 20% O₂ is available.
The ICO105 incorporates ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY control technology, consisting of two high-definition colour TFT screens, providing a clear and intuitive interface for parameter setting. This multilingual interface makes it easy to use, while the SetpointWAIT function ensures that the process time only starts once the programmed conditions have been reached. Adjustable parameters include temperature, CO₂ concentration, programme duration and display options in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
For traceability and protocol management, the ICO105 is equipped with Ethernet and USB interfaces, as well as AtmoCONTRO software for programming, managing and transferring programmes. In the event of a power failure, data is saved, ensuring continuity in the monitoring of experiments.
Safety is a priority in the design of this device. The AutoSAFETY system automatically monitors the temperature to prevent any excessive rise or fall from the setpoint, cutting off the heating or triggering cooling in the event of a problem. Visual and audible alarms immediately alert the user in the event of a fault. The integrated self-diagnostic system continuously monitors temperature and CO₂ parameters to detect any deviations.
The ICO105 is designed with a six-sided heating system, complemented by door and rear heating, preventing condensation and ensuring excellent thermal uniformity. The interior chamber, with a usable volume of 107 litres, is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel (1.4301 / ASTM 304) and can accommodate up to six shelf levels, with a maximum load of 90 kg.
This incubator is equipped with a fully insulated door with two-point locking and an inner glass door with an opening that allows gas to be removed without disturbing the internal atmosphere. Standard accessories include a CO₂ connection kit with hose and fittings, a membrane filter to purify incoming gases, two perforated stainless steel shelves and a water tray.
