Memmert ICO150med: precision incubation for cell cultures

The ICO150med CO₂ incubator from Memmert has been designed to meet the strict requirements of laboratories for controlling critical culture parameters. Combining state-of-the-art technology and robust design, it guarantees stable conditions for the development of cell, bacterial or tissue cultures. Its internal capacity of 156 litres allows it to accommodate a large number of samples while maintaining remarkable homogeneity thanks to a heating system distributed over six sides, including the door and rear, to prevent condensation.

Equipped with TwinDISPLAY technology and a multifunction digital PID controller, the ICO150med allows fine adjustment of temperature, humidity and gases. Accuracy is ensured by high-quality Pt100 sensors, which are redundant for safety, guaranteeing continuous operation even if one of them fails. This device also includes an electronic CO₂ control system using dual-beam NDIR technology, offering maximum reliability for reproducible growing conditions.

Optimised climate control and gas regulation

Humidity control is provided by a Peltier element, limiting the relative humidity to 93% ± 2.5%, while the active regulation option allows this humidity to be modulated between 40 and 97% as required. For applications requiring oxygen control, regulation from 1 to 20% O₂ is available as an option. The gas management system incorporates membrane filters to remove impurities, ensuring the purity of the internal atmosphere.

The SetpointWAIT function allows protocols to be started only when the programmed conditions are reached, preventing any alteration of the samples. The AtmoCONTROL interface facilitates cycle programming and management, while ensuring that parameters are saved in the event of a power failure. The ICO150med is also equipped with automatic protection against out-of-range temperatures, triggering cooling or heating shutdown as appropriate, with visual and audible signals.

Ergonomics, safety and hygiene in the laboratory

The stainless steel design of the internal chamber and chassis ensures excellent corrosion resistance and facilitates cleaning. The unit is equipped with perforated shelves and a stainless steel water tray, offering flexible configuration options with up to ten levels. Its double-locking insulated door and internal glass door with sampling port ensure both safety and practicality. The compact dimensions of the ICO150med allow for easy integration into various laboratory spaces, while maintaining easy access to connections and controls.
