Memmert IF450 incubator – Thermal precision and high capacity for demanding laboratories
The Memmert IF450 incubator is a professional appliance designed to offer stable and reliable thermal performance, suitable for a wide range of laboratory applications. It is particularly suitable for the scientific research, medical, pharmaceutical, food and food chemistry sectors. Thanks to its generous capacity of 449 litres, it can incubate a large volume of samples while maintaining exemplary temperature uniformity throughout the chamber.
Precise temperature control is ensured by a setting range from +20°C to +80°C, with a display accuracy of 0.1°C. The control system is based on a multifunction digital PID microprocessor, controlled by a high-definition TFT colour display. This system not only allows precise adjustment, but also real-time monitoring of incubation parameters. The SetpointWAIT function ensures that the duration of the experiment only starts once the target temperature has been reached, thus ensuring reproducible and reliable results.
The IF450 also stands out thanks to its high-performance ventilation system, which uses a silent air turbine for forced air circulation, adjustable in 10% increments. Preheated fresh air is introduced in a controlled manner via an electronic valve, and a ventilation vent with a restriction valve allows for fine flow regulation. This design ensures perfect homogeneity in heat distribution, avoiding any temperature gradients that could alter the quality of the samples.
The stainless steel inner chamber is reinforced by deep drawing and equipped with heating distributed on four sides, protected and integrated for easy cleaning and to prevent heat loss. The electropolished stainless steel shelves, supplied as standard, can each support up to 30 kg, with a total load capacity of 300 kg in the chamber. Eight levels can be installed, offering maximum flexibility to organise the workspace according to requirements.
For safety, the incubator incorporates an electronic temperature monitoring system and a mechanical TB limiter compliant with DIN 12880, capable of cutting off the heating approximately 20°C above the nominal temperature in the event of a drift. A self-diagnostic system detects and signals any anomalies, reducing the risk of unexpected interruptions.
Cycle control and documentation can be provided via the AtmoCONTROL software, which can be used via an Ethernet interface or optional USB stick. This software facilitates the recording, management and organisation of incubation data. In the event of a power failure, the programme remains saved, allowing a restart without loss of parameters.
In terms of ergonomics, the IF450 has fully insulated stainless steel doors with two-point compression locks, complemented by an inner glass door for observing samples without disturbing the internal temperature. Installation is made easy by lockable castors and a compact design suitable for laboratory spaces.
