Memmert IN450plus – Precision incubator for professional applications
The Memmert IN450plus incubator is a piece of laboratory equipment designed to provide stable and uniform temperature conditions, which are essential in the fields of scientific research, medicine, pharmacy, food chemistry and food analysis. Thanks to its generous internal volume of 449 litres, it can accommodate a large number of samples while maintaining remarkable thermal uniformity.
Its adjustable temperature range from +20 to +80 °C, combined with a display accuracy of 0.1 °C, allows precise control of experimental conditions. The two Pt100 sensors, mounted in accordance with DIN Class A in a 4-wire circuit, provide mutual monitoring and guarantee process safety by taking over in the event of a sensor failure.
The control technology is based on the TwinDISPLAY system, which integrates a multifunction digital PID microprocessor and two high-definition colour TFT displays. This intuitive interface makes it easy to adjust parameters such as temperature, air flap position, programme duration and seasonal time modes.
The IN450plus is equipped with specific functions such as HeatBALANCE, which allows the heating power distribution between the upper and lower circuits to be adjusted, and SetpointWAIT, which ensures that the process time only starts once the target temperature has been reached. The three-point calibration function enhances measurement accuracy, while a four-hour internal sterilisation programme at 160°C ensures complete sanitisation of the working chamber.
Air circulation is based on natural convection, ensured by the admission of preheated air controlled electronically via an adjustable flap. A ventilation connection with a restriction flap also optimises heat exchange according to the requirements of the experimental protocols.
In terms of safety, the incubator incorporates several levels of protection, including a mechanical temperature limiter (class 1 DIN 12880), overheating monitoring systems (TWW, TWB) and AutoSAFETY, which automatically adjusts the tolerances around the setpoint and triggers a visual and audible alarm if they are exceeded. A self-diagnostic system is also integrated to facilitate the analysis of anomalies.
The robust design of the IN450plus is based on a stainless steel structure, an electropolished inner chamber with integrated heating on four sides and double-glazed doors, ensuring excellent thermal insulation. The unit is mounted on lockable castors for easy movement and installation.
Thanks to its communication interface, the IN450plus allows cycle programming and management via the AtmoCONTROL software . Even in the event of a power failure, programmes are saved to ensure test continuity.
