Forma™ Steri-Cycle™ i160: The ultimate CO₂ incubator for your cell cultures
The Thermo Scientific™ Forma™ Steri-Cycle™ i160 is a CO₂ incubator designed to deliver exceptional performance, unmatched reliability and optimal ease of use. Intended for research applications, this incubator meets the most demanding cell culture requirements, from basic research to advanced clinical applications.
At the heart of this incubator is THRIVE™ Active Airflow technology, which ensures uniform distribution of humidified air throughout the chamber. Thanks to an integrated fan, air is distributed evenly, ensuring stable conditions for your cultures. This technology allows critical parameters to be recovered quickly in less than 10 minutes after opening the door, minimising unwanted variations.
The inner chamber, available in electropolished stainless steel or copper, provides an ideal environment for cell culture. Its compact, stackable design optimises your laboratory space. Perforated, adjustable shelves make it easy to organise your samples, while the reversible door offers added flexibility.
To ensure maximum protection against contaminants, the incubator is equipped with an ISO 5 HEPA filter that purifies the air in the chamber every 60 seconds. This filtration achieves air quality comparable to that of a clean room in just 5 minutes after opening the door, providing continuous protection for your cultures.
The integrated, directly heated humidity reservoir ensures high and stable relative humidity levels, preventing cultures from drying out. Its condensation-free design prevents the formation of an environment conducive to contaminants, while allowing moisture recovery 5 times faster than traditional water tray designs.
The incubator is equipped with in-situ sensors and probes for accurate monitoring of growing conditions. Dual temperature probes provide protection against overheating, while CO₂ and O₂ sensors offer optimum accuracy and stability. You can choose between a thermal conductivity (TC) sensor with relative humidity compensation or a dual wavelength infrared (IR) sensor.
The Steri-Run™ sterilisation cycle at 180°C ensures uniform sterilisation of all chamber surfaces, eliminating microbial contaminants. This cycle, which can be activated at the touch of a button, simplifies cleaning protocols and eliminates the need for a separate autoclave for parts.
The door-mounted iCAN™ touchscreen interface provides easy access and optimal visibility of incubator parameters. It allows selection from multiple languages (English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese and Mandarin) for ease of use. Data and error logs, as well as trend graphs, facilitate monitoring of performance and culture conditions.
