Binder BD 240 Incubator: Stability and Precision for Sensitive Incubation
The Binder BD 240 incubator is specifically designed to meet the demands of laboratories requiring gentle, prolonged, and consistent incubation. Equipped with a natural convection system, it ensures uniform heat distribution throughout the chamber without mechanical ventilation—making it ideal for thermally sensitive organisms such as agar-based cell cultures or heat-labile media.
At the core of the unit lies Binder’s patented APT.line™ preheating technology, which provides outstanding thermal accuracy. Paired with a digital DS controller, it allows temperature settings with 0.1 °C precision, across a working range from 5 °C above ambient temperature up to 100 °C. This precise control ensures reproducible experimental conditions—an essential criterion for research and quality control environments.
The BD 240 also features an integrated safety mechanism: a Class 3.1 independent temperature safety device prevents accidental overheating, with a visual alarm triggered if the threshold is exceeded. A built-in timer, programmable up to 99 hours, allows for autonomous cycle management.
With an internal capacity of 240 liters and two height-adjustable chrome-plated shelves (expandable to 7), the BD 240 offers modular use tailored to specific needs. Each shelf supports up to 30 kg. Internal glass doors allow sample observation without heat loss, while the adjustable ventilation slide ensures fine-tuning of thermal flow.
Connectivity is provided through an RS 422 interface, fully compatible with the APT-COM™ DataControlSystem software. The system supports GMP/GLP and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance for secure and traceable data monitoring.
Despite its generous capacity, the BD 240 remains compact, with a controlled footprint and a weight of 93 kg. It is a reliable choice for professionals seeking consistent, reproducible, and disturbance-free incubation conditions.
