Description

Memmert BE 600: scope, control and safety for the laboratory

The Memmert BE 600 oven stands out thanks to its large capacity of 256 litres and its robust design, which is suitable for demanding laboratory environments. This model operates using natural convection, ensuring effective thermal uniformity for standard applications such as drying glassware, preheating solutions or dry sterilisation (excluding flammable vapours). Thanks to an electronic PID controller with digital display, the temperature can be adjusted with an accuracy of 0.1 °C, ensuring reliable control of the set temperature between +20 °C and +300 °C. The integrated 4-wire PT100 sensor allows precise measurement of the actual temperature in the working chamber.

The BE 600 offers several operating modes, including continuous mode, delayed programming, or remote management via RS232 interface with Celsius for Windows® software. This interface allows temperature sequences to be recorded or controlled from a PC. The user can also configure repeat cycles, set start or hold times, and monitor parameter changes in real time.

Designed in accordance with DIN 12880 safety standards, the oven is equipped as standard with a class 3.1 safety device that takes over in the event of a main controller failure. A version with automatic shutdown (class 2) is available for an additional level of protection. The thermal protection system also includes a safety shut-off device in case the programmed safety temperature is exceeded.

Constructed from DIN 1.4301 stainless steel, the oven offers high corrosion resistance and ensures optimum hygiene. It has seven shelf levels with a total load capacity of up to 80 kg, each shelf capable of supporting up to 30 kg. Its sealed door with double seal ensures a tight seal, which is essential for thermal stability.

The BE 600 is easy to integrate into any laboratory space thanks to its versatile installation options: bench-top, stackable or pedestal-mounted. With a weight of 87 kg and a single-phase 230 V power supply, it is convenient to install while offering a generous interior volume.
