Agilia® VP MC: a Precise Volumetric Pump for Intravenous Treatment Administration
The Agilia® VP MC is an infusion pump designed to meet the requirements of intensive care, general medicine and operating theatres. Thanks to its second-generation peristaltic system, it ensures a reliable and constant flow, minimising the risk of medication errors. Its ability to handle volumes ranging from 0.1 to 9999 mL and its accuracy of ±5% guarantee safe administration, even in complex clinical situations. The ability to programme the infusion according to volume, flow rate, time or dose makes the device particularly suitable for a variety of hospital protocols.
Enhanced Safety and Continuous Patient Monitoring
The pump incorporates several systems designed to reduce the risks associated with infusions. The Dynamic Pressure System (DPS) anticipates occlusion or leakage through graphical monitoring of pressures in the line. An anti-bolus system limits the volumes injected after an occlusion is cleared, enhancing patient safety. The device has a wide range of visual and audible alarms (occlusion, air in the tubing, end of infusion, low battery), ensuring constant vigilance. Compatibility with the Agilia Vigilant Drug'Lib drug library allows specific flow limits to be set for each substance, further reducing potential errors.
Ease of Use and Clinical Adaptability
Designed for medical teams, the Agilia® VP MC stands out with its graphic LCD screen, night mode with reduced brightness, and self-test function combined with Volumat tubing for safe installation. Lightweight (approx. 2 kg) and compact, it can be mounted on an infusion stand or rail, with the option of stacking up to three units. Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides over 8 hours of autonomy at moderate flow rates, ensuring continuity of care even when on the move. With multiple infusion modes – including bolus, sequential, piggyback and KVO – the pump adapts to a wide variety of medical situations, from standard infusions to complex long-term treatments.
