Philips IntelliVue X2 monitor: flexible and continuous patient monitoring
The Philips IntelliVue X2 is a compact, powerful and modular patient monitoring device designed to meet the growing demands of modern healthcare facilities. Thanks to its dual functionality, the X2 can be used either as a multi-measurement module (MMS) connected to an IntelliVue host monitor or as a stand-alone monitor for continuous monitoring, particularly during patient transfers. This unique capability ensures continuity of clinical data, minimising interruptions in the monitoring of critical vital signs.
Lightweight (approx. 1.5 kg) and featuring a 3.5-inch colour LCD touchscreen, the X2 provides clear, real-time data on multiple vital parameters. It can monitor 3-, 5-, 6- or 10-lead ECG with arrhythmia analysis, ST and QT, SpO₂, non-invasive blood pressure (NBP), respiratory rate, temperature, invasive pressures (up to three channels), and carbon dioxide (CO₂) via optional modules.
One of the major strengths of the IntelliVue X2 is its seamless integration into the IntelliVue ecosystem. When connected to a host monitor (MP20 to MP90), it acts as a traditional MMS, powered by the host and controlled remotely, allowing alarms and settings to be centralised. When disconnected, it automatically switches to stand-alone battery mode, continuing to collect vital data, even during intra-hospital transport.
The device offers features such as customisable clinical profile configuration, tabular or graphical trend analysis, data archiving, and report printing via the IntelliVue PC solution. Intuitive navigation is provided by the touchscreen, complemented by physical keys for quick access to critical functions (SmartKeys, alarm silence, return to main screen). The interface can be supplemented with the IntelliVue XDS remote display or integrated into a clinical information centre via LAN (wired or wireless) or short-range telemetry.
Designed for robustness, the X2 meets IEC 60601-1 safety standards and electromagnetic compatibility requirements for safe use in critical environments. It is also designed to operate on an internal rechargeable battery or via an external M8023A power supply.
The Philips IntelliVue X2 combines portability, processing power, modularity and connectivity in a compact format to provide a reliable, continuous and adaptable monitoring solution for all phases of the care pathway.
