Memmert IPP55plus – High-precision Peltier cooling incubator
The Memmert IPP55plus Peltier cooling incubator is designed to meet the most stringent thermal control requirements for both cooling and heating phases. Its operating range extends from 0 °C to +70 °C, with the ability to operate up to 20 °C below the ambient temperature, making it the tool of choice for applications requiring stable and controlled conditions. The 0.1°C control accuracy and two Pt100 DIN Class A probes ensure precise and reliable monitoring of parameters, guaranteeing reproducible results.
At the heart of the system is Peltier technology, which not only heats but also cools quickly and efficiently. This technology, integrated into the back of the unit according to the heat pump principle, is characterised by its low energy consumption and its ability to maintain thermal stability even during rapid setpoint changes. The Peltier elements are controlled independently on the upper and lower rows, ensuring even temperature distribution throughout the chamber.
The ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY control interface, with two high-definition colour TFT screens, provides intuitive access to all settings and functions. Parameters such as temperature, programme duration, time zones and seasonal adjustments can be easily configured. The SetpointWAIT function ensures that process timing only starts once the target temperature has been reached, optimising protocol accuracy. The ability to calibrate to three separate temperature values ensures optimum adaptability to specific user requirements.
The design of the IPP55plus combines robustness and ergonomics. The electropolished stainless steel inner chamber is durable and easy to clean, while the insulated outer door, equipped with a two-point compression lock, ensures secure closure. An inner glass door allows the contents to be viewed without disturbing the internal conditions. With a net volume of 53 litres and a maximum load capacity of 80 kg, the unit can accommodate up to four stainless steel shelves, offering flexibility in layout for a variety of sample types.
Safety is at the heart of the Memmert IPP55plus design. It incorporates several protection systems, including overheating and under-temperature monitoring, an AutoSAFETY device that automatically follows the setpoint with a predefined tolerance, and a self-diagnostic system for rapid fault analysis. If the thresholds are exceeded, a visual and audible alarm is triggered and the heating or cooling functions are automatically shut down to prevent damage to the samples.
Forced ventilation, provided by a special Peltier fan, promotes thermal homogeneity and reduces temperature gradients. The unit is also equipped with AtmoCONTROL software, which allows programmes to be created, managed and transferred via USB or Ethernet interface. Data is recorded even in the event of a power failure, ensuring traceability of operations.
