JA-10 Fixed Angle Rotor

The JA-10 from Beckman Coulter is a high-performance fixed-angle rotor designed for centrifuges in the J2, J6 and Avanti J series. Capable of reaching a maximum speed of 10,000 rpm, it holds up to six 500 mL bottles for a total volume of 3 litres per cycle. Ideal for separating large quantities of particles, this robust anodised aluminium rotor guarantees reliability, safety and compatibility with a wide range of tubes and vials. It is perfectly suited to cell biology, microbiology or biochemistry applications requiring powerful and homogeneous centrifugation.

Description

Beckman Coulter JA-10: Performance and robustness for your most demanding centrifugation applications

The Beckman Coulter JA-10 fixed angle rotor is a high-capacity, high-speed solution designed for laboratories that require reliable performance in the preparation of biological or clinical samples. This model is designed for use with Beckman Coulter J2, J6 and Avanti J series centrifuges and is capable of reaching an impressive maximum speed of 10,000 rpm. It can accommodate up to six 500 mL bottles tilted at 25°, allowing a total volume of 3 litres to be centrifuged in each cycle. This design promotes rapid and efficient sedimentation, ideal for bacterial cell pellet preparation, particle separation from tissue homogenates or precipitate recovery in density gradients.

Made of black anodised aluminium, the rotor combines lightness and strength, while ensuring excellent corrosion resistance. The lid, equipped with a locking knob and a Buna N rubber O-ring, ensures a tight and secure closure of the rotor. Adequate lubrication guarantees tightness and prevents leaks. The JA-10 is compatible with the latest centrifuges thanks to the integration of magnets in the rotor base, enabling automatic identification in Avanti J-E models. Older rotors without magnets are also compatible, but their speed is limited to 6300 rpm in these models.

The JA-10 has been designed in accordance with ISO 9001 or 13485 quality standards, ensuring that it meets the quality requirements of the biomedical sector. Maintenance is simplified thanks to clear recommendations on lubrication, cleaning and storage. It can be autoclaved for effective sterilisation, and the materials are compatible with several common disinfectants. The rotor is also designed to minimise biological risks through the use of sealed tubes and bottles suitable for infectious samples.

Numerous adapters and tubes are compatible with the JA-10, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of applications. Its efficiency, measured by a k-factor of 3610, ensures rapid separation even for large volumes. Whether for bacterial culture, protein purification protocols or research laboratory analyses, the JA-10 sets the standard for performance and reliability.
