JS-7.5 Oscillating Cup Rotor

The Beckman Coulter JS-7.5 rotor is an oscillating bucket rotor designed for centrifuges in the J2, J6 and Avanti J series. Capable of reaching a maximum speed of 7,500 rpm, it enables efficient separations thanks to moderate centrifugal forces, ideal for cell pelletisation, nucleic acid precipitation or density gradient separations. Made of anodised aluminium for excellent corrosion resistance, it can accommodate various tube formats thanks to dedicated adapters. Versatile, reliable and robust, the JS-7.5 is an ideal choice for molecular biology and cell biology laboratories.

Description

The JS-7.5 rotor: performance and versatility for your biological separations

The Beckman Coulter JS-7.5 rotor is an essential component for laboratories seeking to optimise their centrifugation protocols. Designed for Beckman Coulter J2, J6 and Avanti J series centrifuges, this swing-bucket rotor delivers reliable performance at speeds of up to 7,500 rpm. This configuration allows for a relative centrifugal force (RCF) of up to 10,580 × g depending on the accessories used, ensuring reproducible results for the most demanding separation applications.

The JS-7.5's aluminium construction ensures exceptional strength while maintaining a relatively low weight. The rotor is painted and its cups or tube holders are anodised, which improves their resistance to corrosion, even during regular use with saline solutions or aggressive biological agents. The clamping button and motor hub locking system ensures perfect stability throughout the cycle.

This rotor is particularly suitable for tasks such as cell pellet preparation, cell debris separation, nucleic acid precipitation and radioimmunoassay (RIA) tests requiring the simultaneous centrifugation of multiple small-volume samples. Thanks to an extensive range of buckets and multi-tube holders, the JS-7.5 can accommodate tubes from 5 mL to 250 mL, with or without adapters, maximising its flexibility.

To ensure optimal results, the JS-7.5 has a low k-factor (up to 2818), indicating high centrifugation efficiency. Its quiet and balanced operation is ensured by mandatory symmetrical loading of the buckets, reducing the risk of premature wear or vibration. Precise balancing and precautionary instructions are provided for each type of configuration.

The rotor is ISO 9001/13485 certified. Easy to maintain, it is compatible with standard cleaning, decontamination and even autoclaving procedures. Certain parts, such as stabilising feet or damaged cups, can also be replaced, extending the service life of the device.

Beckman Coulter supplies a wide range of compatible accessories to ensure perfect compatibility and maximum safety in use. Thanks to its technical performance, proven robustness and great flexibility of use, the JS-7.5 is an essential rotor for biomedical, pharmaceutical and clinical research laboratories.
