K-415 Buchi: A reliable solution for neutralising digestion fumes
The Buchi K-415 is a gas scrubbing system that plays an essential role in neutralising hazardous fumes from digestion processes. Designed to be connected to digesters, it extracts acidic or alkaline fumes using a powerful pump and treats them in several stages to ensure their elimination. The first stage consists of pre-condensation, which reduces the dilution of vapours before they pass to the next stage. The condensates are collected in a dedicated tank, while the cooling water is managed efficiently to minimise water consumption.
The second stage is neutralisation. The gases pass through a neutralisation tank where acids or bases are chemically treated to reduce their aggressiveness. This stage is crucial to ensure that the fumes no longer pose a risk once they are released. The system then proceeds to the adsorption stage, which captures any residual organic and inorganic particles. Finally, in its QuadScrubECO configuration, a fourth reaction stage treats specific gases using reduction or oxidation processes, for example during digestion with aqua regia.
Thanks to its different configurations β DuoScrub, TripleScrub, TripleScrubECO and QuadScrubECO β the K-415 can be adapted to a variety of needs. The ECO models, equipped with automatic cooling water control, significantly reduce water consumption while maintaining optimal washing efficiency. This compact and modular system allows for easy integration into laboratory environments and ensures simplified handling thanks to its included accessories, such as the silicone hose for cooling water and the connection cable to the digester.
The K-415 also complies with the most stringent safety standards, offering high overload protection and operating in environments with a pollution level of 2. Its adjustable suction capacity between 50 and 400 mbar and its 32 L/min pump ensure efficient gas flow management.
This system is ready to use with all the components necessary for immediate operation. Its modular design also allows for future expansion to meet more complex requirements, ensuring a sustainable investment for the laboratory.
