KD-BLIV from Kedee: a versatile, high-performance and intuitive paraffin embedding station
The KD-BLIV from Kedee is a complete solution for histology laboratories seeking performance, safety and flexibility in paraffin embedding procedures. This system has been designed to meet the rigorous needs of professionals handling delicate and varied samples.
One of the main advantages of the KD-BLIV is its sophisticated modular design. It incorporates seven separate work areas: paraffin chamber, paraffin dispenser, left and right thermal storage compartments, work heating plate, small cooling plate and cryo module. Each zone operates independently thanks to a separate thermal control system, ensuring zero interference and exceptional precision in temperature management.
The OLED display significantly improves the user experience. Not only is this screen energy efficient, but it also ensures perfect readability without the need for backlighting, providing clear visibility with no blind spots, regardless of the user's position. This visual comfort is complemented by low-voltage LED lighting, with adjustable angle and brightness, for optimal observation of specimens at all times.
Paraffin distribution is based on a high-precision adjustable gravity system combined with wrap-around film heating. This device ensures gentle, safe and reliable melting of the paraffin without the risk of overheating. The integration of PID technology allows precise and responsive temperature control with a rapid heating mechanism.
To improve process efficiency, the KD-BLIV offers two side cutting plates for convenient handling and trimming of tissue blocks. A large 360° swivel magnifying glass facilitates the inclusion of very small samples, ensuring surgical precision in positioning.
The system also offers great freedom of use thanks to its two operating modes: manual and automatic. Manual mode allows instant control of start and stop, while automatic mode allows the device to be programmed on a weekly basis, with automatic parameter storage.
Another remarkable feature is the flexibility of the modular configuration. The cryo module can be placed on the left or right side according to the operator's preferences. It can also be activated or deactivated automatically in conjunction with the embedding module via a dedicated serial port. Thanks to the use of a new-generation inverter compressor, the freezing temperature is adjustable, ensuring stable, efficient and quiet operation.
The automatic restart system ensures that the KD-BLIV restarts automatically after a power failure, protecting samples and ensuring continuity of work without manual intervention.
