KD-BMIII from Kedee: A complete and high-performance solution for tissue embedding

The KD-BMIII from Kedee is a paraffin embedding station that combines performance, precision and safety to offer an ideal solution for pathology laboratories. Thanks to its fully programmable computerised control system, the device's operating cycles can be planned on a weekly basis, saving valuable time and ensuring efficient process automation.

The device incorporates advanced heating technology using new-generation silicone heating elements. These ensure uniform, fast and reliable heating, while significantly reducing energy consumption. Each heated component, whether the paraffin chamber, paraffin dispenser, thermal storage compartments or work plate, is controlled independently, ensuring maximum flexibility and total absence of interference.

Temperature accuracy is ensured by integrated American-made thermal sensors. The display is via an intuitive LCD screen, which shows clear icons illustrating the operating status in real time. For safety, the system has five independent temperature control channels, accompanied by overheating protection mechanisms, ensuring reliable and safe operation at all times.

The KD-BMIII automatically stores pre-set temperatures, ensuring instant restoration of settings each time the unit is switched on. This memory system facilitates daily operations and enhances performance consistency. In addition, the modular design, which separates the cryogenic module from the inclusion module, allows for easy maintenance and increased flexibility of use.

The cryogenic module uses a new-generation inverter compressor for precise temperature control from +5°C to -20°C, with an optimal operating temperature of around -15°C. The independently controlled cryo plate provides a dedicated surface for rapid freezing of small samples, significantly improving the efficiency of histological processing.

The device also features a large-capacity paraffin chamber (4 litres), ideal for the simultaneous embedding of multiple specimens. Low-voltage lighting, which can be activated at the touch of a button or via a foot pedal, ensures maximum safety while providing perfect visibility. The heated work plate and clamp wells greatly facilitate tissue handling and positioning.

The system incorporates a high-precision clock for fine and accurate programming of working times. An automatic activation function after a power failure ensures continuity of operation in the event of an electrical incident. The flow rate of the paraffin dispenser is adjustable via an imported solenoid valve, providing optimal control during embedding.

The KD-BMIII is compatible with other Kedee modules such as the BL and BC via its integrated power supply socket, making it a scalable solution for laboratories wishing to configure a complete and modular system.
