Description

KL 1600 LED – A powerful and durable LED light source for professional microscopy

The KL 1600 LED from Schott is a cold light source specifically developed to meet the lighting requirements of stereoscopic microscopy applications. Combining efficiency, durability and flexibility, this device is the obvious choice for laboratories, research institutions or industrial environments requiring reliable lighting without thermal distortion. Designed around a patented multi-chip LED engine, the KL 1600 provides homogeneous white light with a colour temperature of around 5600 K, very close to daylight, enabling accurate reproduction of the colours observed under the microscope. With a luminous flux of up to 680 lumens at the light guide outlet, it guarantees excellent light intensity for observing all types of samples, even those requiring high illumination.

One of the main advantages of the KL 1600 is its ability to operate continuously for long periods without requiring maintenance. Unlike halogen lamps, which need to be replaced regularly, the integrated LED technology guarantees a service life of up to 50,000 hours. This robustness is enhanced by an ultra-quiet fan cooling system, which ensures optimum operating temperature while maintaining minimal noise levels, which is particularly appreciated in noise-sensitive environments.

Ergonomics have not been overlooked: the KL 1600 is compact, lightweight (approx. 2.45 kg) and equipped with a simple clamp mounting system, making it easy to integrate into various working configurations. A two-position slider allows quick insertion of colour filters (blue, red, green, yellow or halogen) to adapt the lighting to the specific requirements of the samples being observed. The integrated light intensity dimmer allows precise adjustment from 0 to 100%, giving the user complete control over the lighting depending on the application.

The KL 1600 is also designed for maximum compatibility with a wide range of fibre optic light guides. Adapters are available for Megalight (Schott Nippon), ColdVision (Schott North America), Volpi or Photonic systems, allowing seamless integration into existing installations.

The KL 1600 LED from Schott combines light performance, durability, modularity and ease of use, making it an ideal lighting solution for microscopy professionals looking for a reliable, powerful and economical light source.
