LGV 5010 Laboratory Cabinet: Reliability and Performance for Low-Temperature Storage
The Liebherr LGV 5010 is a laboratory cabinet designed to meet low-temperature storage needs in scientific, medical, and pharmaceutical environments. With a gross volume of 486 liters and a usable volume of 325 liters, it allows for the storage of a large number of samples while ensuring perfect control over temperature conditions. Thanks to its forced-air cooling system, temperature remains uniform across all storage levels, with a regulation range from -5°C to -30°C and a stability of ±5°C.
The integrated Comfort + electronic controller ensures precise temperature control with one-degree resolution. Users can thus set storage parameters according to their specific requirements. The control keypad can be locked with a PIN code, providing enhanced access security in laboratories where multiple users may operate the equipment.
In the event of temperature variation or prolonged door opening, audible and visual alarms immediately alert the user. The last three temperature alarms and any power failures are automatically saved with the date, time, and duration, facilitating traceability and audits.
The LGV 5010’s design combines robustness and hygiene. The white epoxy-coated steel housing is corrosion-resistant, while the thermoformed ABS interior with rounded corners allows for quick and easy cleaning. The 70 mm thick high-density polyurethane foam insulation limits thermal exchange and ensures excellent preservation, even in the event of a power outage. The solid door features a safety lock and reversible opening direction, allowing optimal adaptation to installation constraints.
The unit is equipped with four plastic-coated steel shelves (dimensions 633x497 mm), each capable of supporting up to 60 kg, with a total load capacity of 180 kg. Up to eleven shelf levels can be configured, with 80 mm spacing between levels. Additional accessories such as transparent drawers or 80 mm diameter castors are available to enhance internal organization and mobility. Two access ports (Ø 30 mm and Ø 15 mm) are provided for the integration of qualification probes or centralized temperature monitoring systems, allowing real-time tracking of internal temperature.
For traceability purposes, the LGV 5010 can optionally be fitted with a standalone data logger (OP 48B) or a 7-day chart recorder (OP 14D).
Quiet (noise level of 55 dBA) and energy-efficient (consumption of 3.41 kWh/24h), the LGV 5010 operates with R290 refrigerant and is compatible with standard 230 V – 50 Hz power supply. It is designed for use in climate class 5 environments, ensuring optimal performance even at ambient temperatures up to +40°C.
Its pressure relief valve allows for quick reopening of the door after closure—an essential technical feature for everyday laboratory operations.
