VWR® PCR Plate Spinner: Compact Centrifuge for PCR Plates
The VWR® PCR Plate Spinner is a benchtop centrifuge specifically designed for the rapid centrifugation of PCR plates, an essential step for homogenizing samples before amplification. With a compact design that optimizes workspace, this device is an indispensable ally for molecular biology laboratories and diagnostic units.
Its dual-position vertical rotor ensures stable holding of PCR plates throughout the centrifugation cycle. Thanks to this mechanism, the plates remain upright without the risk of tilting, ensuring uniform sample deposition. Compatible with a wide range of PCR plates, including 96-well, 384-well, skirted, and non-skirted models, it offers increased flexibility for various experimental setups.
The VWR® PCR Plate Spinner is designed for simple and intuitive use. Simply insert the plates into the loading slots, rotate the rotor to add a second plate if necessary, and then close the lid. Once the device is activated, it quickly reaches and maintains a speed of 2500 rpm throughout the cycle, ensuring effective sample separation.
When centrifugation is complete, a simple press of the "Open" button activates automatic braking, allowing for a quick and safe stop of the rotor. This system prevents any risk of spilling the contents of the wells when removing the plates.
In addition to standard PCR plates, this model is also designed to accommodate other formats using a dedicated adapter. It can hold individual PCR tubes (0.2 ml), strips of 8 or 12 PCR tubes, and up to 4 half-plates of 48 wells. This versatility makes it a strategic choice for laboratories with varied PCR needs.
Moreover, its compatibility with cold rooms allows for use in specific conditions requiring controlled temperatures, ensuring optimal sample preservation before amplification.
Weighing 3 kg, the VWR® PCR Plate Spinner combines lightness and stability. Its compact housing allows for easy installation on any benchtop, even in confined spaces. Operating on a 230 V, 50/60 Hz power supply, it integrates seamlessly into laboratories equipped with standard European outlets.
