HACH Portable Incubator - A reliable solution for microbiological incubation on the go
The HACH portable incubator is the solution of choice for water treatment professionals, mobile laboratories and field technicians who need to start incubating samples immediately after collection. This device has been designed to meet the requirements of accuracy, reliability and portability in the field of microbiological analysis.
Its main advantage is its ability to maintain a constant temperature of 5°C above the ambient temperature up to 50°C, with remarkable thermal stability of ±0.5°C at 37°C. This precision is essential to ensure sample integrity and reliable results. The user can adjust the incubation temperature using a simple control panel consisting of a digital display and arrow keys. A calibration function allows the temperature reading of the device to be aligned with that of a certified reference thermometer, ensuring a high level of compliance with laboratory protocols.
Its compact size – only 26 x 24 x 21 cm – and weight of 1.8 kg make it easy to transport and install in vehicles or mobile laboratories. It can be powered via a 12 VDC socket (cigarette lighter) or, with a user-supplied adapter, via a mains socket. This offers unprecedented flexibility for environmental monitoring or quality control missions outside the laboratory.
With a capacity of 42 Petri dishes, 39 MPN tubes or 6 disposable P/A bottles, the incubator can be adapted to various microbiological analysis protocols, including presence/absence, most probable number (MPN) and membrane filtration tests. It is supplied with racks suitable for these different types of containers. In addition, its secure lid ensures optimal thermal insulation throughout the incubation period, while minimising heat loss.
Maintenance of the device is simplified thanks to an interior and exterior surface that is easy to clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. In case of corrosion, a mild abrasive can be used for cleaning (excluding steel wool).
