The LR-2.ST Compact Power from IKA is a modular laboratory reactor system ly designed to meet the requirements of researchers in chemistry and biotechnology. Its design allows for the optimisation and reproduction of various chemical, mixing and homogenisation processes on a laboratory scale, while offering remarkable flexibility. The system features a robust stirrer support that ensures safe transfer of high motor torque, guaranteeing optimum efficiency even with highly viscous samples.
This laboratory reactor is ideal for chemical synthesis, reactions under vacuum or in a controlled atmosphere, and processes requiring intensive stirring. It is capable of operating in a wide temperature range from -50°C to +230°C, allowing work on reactions requiring significant heating or cooling. The LR-2.ST is also designed to withstand solvents thanks to its perfluoroelastomer (FFPM) seals that come into direct contact with the samples, ensuring excellent chemical and thermal resistance.
The system incorporates microprocessor speed control, ensuring constant speed even under variable loads, which is essential for maintaining stable experimental conditions. The maximum torque of 60 Ncm at the stirring shaft allows media with viscosities of up to 50,000 mPas to be processed. In addition, the device displays the torque evolution in real time, a valuable feature for monitoring viscosity changes during a process.
Its modular design offers numerous customisation options thanks to the open ports on the reactor lid, allowing the addition of accessories such as ULTRA-TURRAX dispersers, temperature sensors or flow breakers. This flexibility makes it easy to tailor the system to the specific requirements of each application. The telescopic stand with a stroke of 390 mm allows easy height adjustment for increased user comfort and easy handling of vessels.
One of the highlights of the LR-2.ST is the removable WiCo controller, which allows for secure wireless operation even when the device is placed under a fume hood. This feature improves user safety while optimising everyday convenience. The reactor comes with a complete package including a support system, a EUROSTAR 60 control stirrer, a reactor lid and the components required for immediate commissioning.
With its compact dimensions (670 x 1240 x 580 mm) and weight of 25 kg, the LR-2.ST fits easily into any laboratory workspace. Its useful capacity of 500 to 2000 ml (or a minimum of 800 ml with the dispersion tool) makes it suitable for a wide variety of experiments.
