Description

The LIFEPAK 1000, a versatile defibrillator for first responders and healthcare professionals

The Physio-Control LIFEPAK 1000 is a state-of-the-art portable defibrillator designed to meet the needs of first responders and healthcare professionals in cardiac emergencies. This device combines flexibility, power and durability, providing a complete solution for cardiac resuscitation and continuous cardiac monitoring.

The LIFEPAK 1000 is equipped with advanced features that enable a fast and effective response in the event of cardiac arrest. It has two display options, allowing the device to be easily configured according to patient care protocols or recommendations from health organisations such as the American Heart Association and the European Resuscitation Council. Defibrillation energy can be increased up to 360 joules, providing a better chance of successful defibrillation. This ability to escalate energy is particularly useful for patients requiring multiple shocks, as increasing the dose of successive shocks has been shown to be a more effective strategy for terminating shockable heart rhythms.

The durability of the LIFEPAK 1000 is one of its strengths. Designed to be the most robust defibrillator ever manufactured by Physio-Control, it can be used with confidence in the most hostile environments. Its simple and intuitive user interface, combined with clear and comprehensive voice prompts, allows trained users to respond quickly and confidently.

For first responders, the LIFEPAK 1000 is easy to use at the scene of a cardiac arrest. It features loud voice prompts and illuminated buttons to guide the user, as well as a large LCD screen displaying graphics and text for quick reference. Pre-connected electrodes save valuable time when every second counts. For paediatric patients, specific electrodes are available to provide appropriate therapy.

For healthcare professionals, the LIFEPAK 1000 offers built-in flexibility to adapt the device to CPR and resuscitation protocols. It is equipped with a high-capacity battery that can deliver up to 440 shocks or approximately 17 hours of monitoring time. ECG rhythms and delivered shocks are digitally recorded and can be transferred wirelessly via an IrDA port to a PC for post-event quality review.

The LIFEPAK 1000 is also compatible with a range of Physio-Control rescue tools, including their line of manual defibrillators/monitors. With the push of a button, the LIFEPAK 1000 can operate in manual mode, allowing users to decide when to analyse and shock. ECG monitoring of the patient via a 3-wire cable provides additional flexibility for ECG-trained users and allows ALS teams to quickly assess the patient's rhythm.

The Physio-Control LIFEPAK 1000 is a versatile and rugged portable defibrillator designed to meet the needs of first responders and healthcare professionals. With its advanced features, durability and flexibility, it is an essential tool for resuscitation and continuous cardiac monitoring.
