LED-3000 light source – Precision surgical performance from Smith & Nephew
The LED-3000 light source from Smith & Nephew embodies a new generation of surgical lighting for demanding surgical environments. Designed to meet the most stringent standards in the medical industry, it combines light output, technological reliability and adaptability, providing the high-quality lighting essential for minimally invasive procedures.
Equipped with a high-efficiency LED system, the LED3000 delivers stable, uniform brightness, reaching up to 1700 lumens in the visible spectrum. Its colour temperature, between 5900 and 7300 Kelvin, reproduces colours faithfully, optimising tissue visualisation and enhancing surgical precision. The colour rendering index (CRI) of 70 ensures clear differentiation of anatomical structures, even in complex surgical conditions.
Its compact and lightweight design makes it easy to integrate into any operating theatre, on a workbench or mobile trolley. The system is equipped with a rotating barrel that allows the connection of several types of light guides (STORZ, ACMI, WOLF, OLYMPUS), making the LED3000 compatible with a wide variety of endoscopes and surgical instruments. Its intuitive user interface is based on a front control panel with push buttons to adjust the light intensity, an LCD screen indicating the lighting level, and a STANDBY button that temporarily deactivates the light emission while keeping the system powered on.
With a typical service life of 30,000 hours, the LED3000 offers uninterrupted operation for several years without frequent replacement of the light source. This makes it an economical, low-maintenance device, reducing operational interruptions and maintenance costs. Its pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming technology ensures precise and gradual intensity control without any noticeable flickering.
Certified to international standards (FDA Class I, CE, IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-2-18), the LED3000 guarantees safe use. It features type BF insulation and is designed to operate in strictly controlled hospital environments. In addition to its optical performance, the device has communication ports (USB and RS-232) on the rear, facilitating integration into connected systems or for software updates.
Versatile, precise and durable, the LED3000 is a high-end surgical lighting solution, ideal for procedures such as arthroscopy, laparoscopy and ENT endoscopy. Designed to support healthcare professionals in the most demanding conditions, it combines cutting-edge technology and ergonomics with excellence.
